It’s no secret that I love coloring. I’ve mentioned it numerous times here on the blog, on social media, and to pretty much anyone who every talks to me. It’s my favorite way to relax and quiet my brain. So you can imagine my excitement when Ulysses Press offered me a new coloring book from one of their authors! If you can’t imagine, it looked a lot like this……
Then it got here, and I was like……
As soon as I had it, I couldn’t wait to try it out!! Not like I’m struggling to find coloring books or anything. As coloring for meditative and zen purposes gets more popular, more and more patterned books geared towards adults are popping up. In fact, I was waitlisted to get my copy of this book because it sold out so quickly. How awesome is that???
Coloring Flowers Mandalas by Wendy Piersall is simply STUNNING. There really are no other words. The designs are intricate without being overly taxing, and the variety is amazing. I generally color in marker, so I love that each image is on a separate page; no front and back images here. I hate wasting good pictures because of bleed through. I seriously could not be happier with this new book!
The only suggestion I would make is to have perforations on the pages to make tearing out easier. I keep all of my colored pages in a binder (yes, it’s my own personal gallery of art) and page removal can be a bit tricky. But not everyone is as obsessive as I am about storing and my “art.”
If you are into coloring, want to get into coloring, or just want to know what to get me for my birthday (hint: coloring stuff!) I highly recommend checking out this book, as well as Wendy’s other amazing books. She hand draws her images, and they are just awesome. I will definitely be checking out her other titles….. as soon as I’m finished with this book!
This coloring book was gifted to my from Ulyesses Press. All opinions and coloring is my own!
