You know those parents that get all teary-eyed over the milestones in their kids lives….. AKA every parent on the planet? That’s me right now. Granted, she’s not my kid, but my little sister is about to graduate from college in a week. Am I insanely proud? You bet. Am I bawling like a baby every time I think about it? Absolutely!
Since I am a clothes junkie, I obviously have to get a new outfit for graduation. Her school colors are navy blue and orange, so I want to wear something with at least one of those colors. So, here are some of my options…..
1. V-Neck Jersey Maxi Dress in Navy Stripe – Old Navy
I have made it no secret that I am now obsessed with maxi dresses. I love the easy cut of the dress, and the fact that it’s cotton jersey. The navy stripes are cute without being overwhelming.
2. Jersey Tube Dress in Blue Paisley – Old Navy
I have to admit, this one is my current favorite! It’s navy and orange, the print is adorable, and the cut is super flattering. It’s strapless which can be a bit nerve wracking, but a good strapless bra should keep that in check. Plus it’s under $30!
3. Crochet Yoke Dress in Goodnight Nora – Old Navy
You can’t see it too well in the picture, but this dress has a lovely crocheted top. It’s just enough embellishment to keep the dress unique without making it too weird to be unwearable. Plus, it would be the most awesomely unique and versatile thing in my wardrobe.
4. Adrianna Papell Dot Lace Overlay Dress – Nordstrom
Okay, I know this one isn’t navy or orange and it’s a wee bit too fancy, but come on…… it’s amazing! I’ve had my eye on this dress for a while, and now it’s on sale. This just might be the excuse I need to get it…….
5. Naval Girl Skater Dress by City Chic – Sonsi
The amount of cute in this dress is seriously ridiculous. I love the buttons, the flared skirt and the scoop neck. The fact that it’s sleeveless makes it perfect for summer, and with a cardigan it’ll work in the fall as well. A dress for all seasons!
Which would you choose? Leave me a comment on the post or on Facebook. Next week, I’ll post a picture of the one I wore!
