So I know it’s not Monday, but I totes have a shopping cart going on right now. See, I’ve accepted that I may never find the perfect tall boot. Between my wide-ish calves and skinny ankles, finding tall boots is quite the challenge. I’ve pretty much given up, but never fear! My shoe guy introduced me to the wonder that is the ankle boot. At first I was worried about my legs looking short, but then I realized two things: 1- My legs are short, and that’s okay. 2- If I like them and they look cute, why do I care if other random people MIGHT think my legs look short?? With that in mind, I went on a hike for the perfect ankle boot! I picked everything from DSW because…. well…. it’s down the street and has sweet prices.
This comes in taupe, brown, and black and honestly….. I love all of the colors. I think I like the taupe best to go with black leggings, but the brown is so pretty as well. And the black would be the logical choice, but really…. when am I ever logical???
This boot comes in brown and black, and I definitely prefer the brown. I like that it’ll look good over jeans or under jeans. The brown has just the right look of brokenin-ness (that’s so not a word, but you know what I mean) and under pants, it’ll look just like the Frye’s Veronica boot AKA my dream boot.
A friend of mine has this boot in tan, and it’s adorable! I didn’t think I’d like it at first, but it’s definitely grown on me. The black is really nice as well. It’s simple and the braid detail is really unique. I think I could do a lot with this boot.
I’ve posted about this boot before, and it’s still on my mind. I LOVE the cognac color – it’s perfect with anything! The buckles are very pretty without being overwhelming. I always like buckles on boots, but they are usually a little too “motorcycle chic” for my taste. I would hate to give anyone the impression that I am up for a motorcycle ride.
These are the most expensive of the boots I picked, and that’s a big deterrent to me. But they are just so pretty!! I love the lighter color (to go with black leggings and jeans) and I love the suede. Plus, it has a bit more heel than the others, and you know I need all the height help I can get.
These come in sand and taupe, and I don’t know if I could pick between the colors. They are both so pretty and wearable. My only complaint with this one is that it’s a bit short. I’d have to try it on to really see though. That being said, I really like the elasticy sides. That makes it easier to get on, and that is a HUGE plus. I hate struggling with boots. I always end up falling over like a drunk. It’s embarrassing to say the least.
So what do you think of my choices? And how do you feel about ankle boots in general??
