I am so excited to share this outfit for a number of reasons. First, I’m sort of in love with this blue tiered dress. It’s super comfy and casual, but the bottom ruffles make it feel so fancy! I could wear it with pretty much any shoe I own, and it just works. I love versatile pieces!
But I’m way more excited about the pictures! And that’s because I’ve partnered with one of the best photographers (and badass lady bosses) that I know – Caitlin McWeeney!
Want to know how much I love her work? She was my wedding photographer! She did such an amazing job capturing the happiest day of my life, I asked her to do some family pictures. Of course, she killed those as well, so it only made sense that I work with her on a regular basis.
We’re going to be doing regular photoshoots and projects together to create awesome content, and all kinds of other fun stuff. Keep reading below to learn more about her and her work.

What got you into photography?
Oh man! Honestly, I got the bug from my parents who are professionals in their own right and who have helped me so much along the way. The support from them, and some teachers in high school and college really pushed me to pursue this as a career.
What are your favorite things to photograph?
I really like being the one capturing people’s personalities in photographs because photographs are mini stories. You can look at a single photo and know exactly what was going on at that moment. But I also love dogs. So it’s probably a toss-up.
My ideal wedding client is creative, often thinking outside the box, not afraid of bright colors and are contemporary/modern but with a classy attitude. They love a good party and are happy to welcome just their closest family and friends to their wedding with good food, delicious wine, and great music. The best couples are romantic, warm-hearted and enjoy hanging out all night with their partner where you’ll see them on the dance floor frequently, singing loudly and having fun with wild abandon.
Favorite shooting location?
I’m all about the unexpected! Parks, gardens bore me. I want to explore and find a cool gritty, textural wall or pathway to have some fun with. That being said, in the opposite way, I love a good nature backdrop for wedding photos. So my favorite venue is probably Barr Mansion or for a really nice full experience, Camp Lucy.
Omg! I was shooting a wedding for another photographer and all day it looked as though it was going to rain. Windy, dark clouds covered the ceremony but we got through that and all the “first dances” and were coasting through the reception dancing. When all of the sudden the wind picked up and started gusting, then it was raining, then HAILING and suddenly we’re scrambling for our flashes and running to the clubhouse.
Best boss woman advice?
Ask for more f*ing money.
Three things you love besides photography
Chocolate, wildflower looking bouquets, dogs
Favorite social platform
Instagram or Twitter. I like the visuals on Instagram, but I enjoy the snarkiness of Twitter most days. Sometimes it’s overwhelming with information, especially in today’s fast-paced political world.
