Whew, it has been a minute! As my business grows (YAY!) my free time dwindles (BOO!) so blogging takes a backseat. But some things just have to be shared!
Soooooo my beautiful sister Tessa got married last weekend, and I am not all ashamed to admit that I cried like a baby. Mass, introduction, reception – all of it. Just. Bawled. No shame, though. I’m super happy for her and Gary, and especially their sweet furbaby, Chulo!!
Their wedding was in San Antonio, and had a very Mexican theme. I thought about wearing a Mexican dress, but I feel like a brightly colored potato in traditional Mexican dresses. So I needed to find something that fit the theme (bright, floral, colorful), but made me feel fancy! Imagine my surprise when Old Navy CAME THROUGH…..
Plus Size Outfit – Wedding Guest Attire

This dress caught my eye for a few reasons:
- Old Navy is ON POINT with their Facebook and Instagram ads
- The colors and pattern were bright without being garish
- It was on sale for $16.50!!!
How could I say no?? Wearing bodycon can be a little tricky for me (and my brain), but I really enjoyed the fit and feel of this dress. I didn’t feel restricted at all, and I felt so pretty and celebratory!
Since I first settled on this dress, I knew I wanted a darker shoe, but not a black shoe, to balance out the bright dress. I also knew I wanted an espadrille with a low heel, but with closed toes because I hate showing my toes. After some fruitless searches IRL, I turned to my trusty Amazon and was not disappointed! These shoes were exactly what I wanted and were so comfortable and cute! I’m already looking for ways to wear them again.
The purse was a total last minute buy. I knew I needed a wristlet or small clutch since all of mine are either black or patterned. This caught my eye as soon as I walked to the purse section of Target and I was like YASSSSSSSSS. It actually fits so much stuff and you can carry it as a crossbody or just use the handles. My only complaint is that the long strap isn’t removable. So if you don’t want to use it, you just have to coil it up in the bottom of the purse.
I was so happy to find an outfit that not only looked and felt great, but was appropriately festive and happy for such a joyous occasion! I love you so much, Tessa, and I’m so damn happy for you and Gary and Chulo!
