Plus Size Outfit Post – Going Strapless

Are you currently living in Texas? If so, I am so sorry that you are also experiencing the melting heat. I’m pretty sure I’m getting shorter. Like the Wicked Witch of the West, I am literally melting. So my big fashion challenge is what the heck do I wear that feels as close to naked as possible???

I actually tried this skirt/dress through Gwynnie Bee last year and LOVED it. This awesome piece functions as a lovely skirt or a strapless dress.  Kiyonna had a SWEET sale last month, and I got it for a steal. I’ve worn it as a skirt in public……

Me and my old roomie Cris - you can see the top of my skirt. She totally got the stripes memo!

…but I was never brave enough to wear it all strapless like in public. Well friends, it is way to hot to be self-conscious. If I’ll be in a news publication in my bathing suit, I can’t really complain about going strapless right???

Part of the reason I’m stoked to wear strapless is because of my sweet new tattoo on the top of my shoulder! My soon to be sister-in-law was my artist once again, and she did an amazing job as always. It’s a quote from JK Rowling and says “Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.” I love it so much!!

My sister Theresa has the same shoes as me, but hers are black. As big heeled shoes go, these are pretty comfy and easy to walk in. Plus they matched my belt really well. Keeping a strapless top even is a little tricky, so sorry it’s a bit lopsided here.

All in all, I really liked this look. It was super comfy and cool and I felt fancy and summery. What’s your go-to cool and comfortable summer look??

  1. I’m melting here in Nashville, too. We’re off to Scotland in a week or so, and I’m excited for cooler temperatures and layering. I feel like I’ve spent hardly any time outside this summer! And like you, I’ve gone for minimal clothing with accessories to spice things up a bit. I love your neutral leather accessories and how the belt and owl necklace break up the striped dress a bit. Very cute!
