Plus Size Outfit Post – Lace Dress

Look at me – two plus size outfit posts in a week! It’s like I’m a real blogger or something……

So this Friday, we have a really big and fancy family event. My grandparents are celebrating 60 years of marriage. Crazy right?? Obviously this means I have to be super fancy. But not just Cathy-fancy; I have to be Mom-and-Grandma-approved fancy. That is a whole other fancy story. So figuring that a lot of my dresses weren’t going to cut it, I did a little dress shopping. Of course, I waited until the last minute, so ordering online was out of the question. I admit I was skeptical going in. I didn’t think I was going to find anything I really liked. But lo and behold……

Jacquard Houndstooth Skater Dress – Lane Bryant

This dress is pretty much exactly what I wanted. Blue (my grandma’s favorite color is blue), skater shape, not sleeveless, and no cleavage. Plus it’s super cute! Not only will I be able to wear this for the mass and party on Friday, but I will get plenty of use out of it this fall/winter.

But the story does not end there my friends. As I’m getting ready to check out, I was perusing the sales rack. And I came across this dress:

I’m totally in love with this dress. My sister actually has the same dress in teal, and I’m totally jealous of it. I’ve wanted my own forever, but I didn’t want to completely copy her. This color totally different, and it’s perfect for fall! I went to dinner with a long lost friend last night, and I dressed it down for the occasion…..

Dress – Lane Bryant | Belt – Eloquii | Necklace – Gift from Monique | sandals – Target (in Cognac) | New hair – Becky Joyce!! | Lipstick – Loreal Colour Riche Glossy Balm in Vintage Rose

This is like the bestest dress EVER. It’s super versatile; I can dress it down like  I did here, or dress it up with fancy heels and some statement jewelry. I can swap out the belts, or wear it belt-less. I can layer it with a cardigan or jacket or tights when it gets colder. I can’t wait!!

What do you think of my two dress picks?

I stumbled upon this by accident but seeing this magnificent woman I just had to come in here say you are looking oh so fine here. Love those sandals and pretty tootsies too.
I’m sure you have a man but dang if you didn’t I would certainly be proud to take you to dinner looking this hot.
