Plus Size Outfits – Dressing Up And Self Care

When I’m down – like REALLY down – it’s hard for me to care for myself. Everyday tasks are tough, and sometimes just taking a shower seems like a marathon. Self care generally goes out the window pretty quickly, which means makeup and dressing up are pretty far down the list as well. But I’m excited to say that my desire to get dressed up is returning! I took a couple of outfit pics (in my poorly lit dining room) that I’m excited to share.

Last week, I posted a makeup pic on Instagram, and mentioned that Adam and I were going out to dinner. I asked if anyone was interested in the full outfit pic, and I got some YES PLEASE responses!

Here’s the makeup pic……

Since I always get asked…. Lipstick is a NYX Full Throttle Lipstick in Locked! Also, please excuse the eyebrows. No self care = no eyebrow appointment. I’m on it this week!

And here’s the full outfit!

Self Care Outfit1

Dress – Lovesick (sadly the site is closed) | Shoes – Target (from a friend)| Earrings – Pink Sapphire drops (gift)

I know the picture isn’t great. I was too excited for steak to take a picture before we left, and it was dark when we got home. But it was such a cute, comfy outfit, and I got two compliments on my shoes! There are such great sneakers with a little platform and a WHOLE LOTTA SPARKLE! To be honest, I’m still pretty sad about Lovesick closing. They said they are only “hitting pause to tweak a few things” so I really hope they’ll be back. I got a lot of great staples there, and this dress is one of them. It also has pockets and y’all know how I feel about that!

Here’s the other outfit I wore recently!

Self Care Outfit2

Tunic – Eshakti (old style, similar) | Shorts – Lane Bryant (gift from friend) | Shoes – Nordstrom (last year)

This was one of the first times I really ventured out for fun in the last month, so I didn’t do my makeup. But I did wear something that made me really happy. I’ve shared this tunic before, and I still really really love it! I can’t wait to wear it with leggings or tights for the fall. But my very stylish friend Becky gave me these shorts, and I knew they’d be perfect with my tunic. I also NEVER wear my Oxfords since I got them at the end of the cold season. I’m hoping to break them out a lot in the next few months.

I know it’s not going a quick journey back to feeling like myself again. I always try to rush myself to feel better, but it’s a process. And there’s going to be some steps backwards. And that’s okay. I don’t have to move at anyone’s pace but my own. And I’m so excited that getting dressed is starting to be fun again. I have so many outfits to share!!
