Transparent Tuesday – My Glamorous Work-From-Home Life

I’m inspired by Authentically Emmie in so many ways; her strength, her dedication to her health, and her mad style. But today I’m more literally inspired ……. to share my #TransparentTuesday story!

my computer and desk

My desk, my computer, my notepads, and my bowl of small owls. Everything I need to work!

I work from home. I am extremely blessed to do what I love (social media marketing and content creation) for a variety of clients. I enjoy my job immensely and wouldn’t trade it for the world. However, there is a less glamorous side to working from home. Check it out…..

Me at desk

I’m clean….. that’s about all I can say about this pic. No brush has touched this hair today…. or yesterday….

  • I bathed for the first time in 2.5 days this morning….. and put the same yoga pants back on.
  • I nap constantly. The BF works from 5pm -2am, so we are pretty nocturnal. I usually sleep from about 5am-10:30am, then work and do stuff, the sleep again from 5pm-7pm, and sometimes again from 12am-1 or 2am. I know it’s weird and totally unproductive, but it works for right now.

You can’t blame me for napping. This is my co-worker/secretary/motivator!

  • I consider zit cream, moisturizer, and lip balm to be my daily makeup routine. Hey it’s clean and my skin is cared for; what more do I need?
  • Sometimes I’ll go 2-3 days without leaving the house. Today will probably be one of those days.

I try not to be too ashamed of myself. I do try and get out for meetings, lunches with friends, grocery shopping, etc. But with my work schedule, the BF’s work schedule, and my almost (but not quite) crippling depression, it’s a lot easier to just stay home and enjoy my quiet solitude….. and my never-ending episodes of Stargate.

Join me next week for more #TransparentTuesday adventures!

I love how honest you are! I think this resonates with so many people because, on the whole, I’d say we all have similar feelings and stories. Reading about them and sharing them makes me feel a little more OK about myself.

I also work from home and there will be times I have to force myself to leave the house. And this cold weather in the northeast is not helping.

    DUDE, I warned you.
